To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Tŷ Newydd as the National Writing Centre of Wales, Literature Wales organised a Digital Poetry Masterclass led by Gillian Clarke, former National Poet of Wales and one of the Centre’s founders.
7 poets were selected for the course following a competitive application process. The course took place between 15 – 19 June 2020 and was an opportunity for the committed poets to develop the shape, music, and imaginative possibilities of their poetry. Over the course of five days, the poets wrote, took part in group discussions, and received critical feedback on their poems. Poet Mona Arshi joined the virtual library during the week to give a reading to inspire the poets’ work.
The course culminated with the publication of a digital anthology of the poems created during the week, read the anthology here, or download a pdf copy below.
Additional digital courses will be announced soon, keep an eye on our website and social media channels for further information.
