How can writing and creativity support our health and well-being? How can language and words help us explore our feelings, identify our anxieties, and better understand our place in the world? During this revitalizing and instructive weekend course, you will be invited to respond to various creative pieces spanning across poetry and theatre. Alongside expanding your literary context, you’ll be encouraged to engage in your own writing with an aim to connect with yourself and others. The tutors, experienced writers and facilitators clare e. potter and Iola Ynyr will also be on-hand to share best practice when it comes to designing and delivering creative writing workshops for health and well-being purposes in various community settings.

The tutors will nurture a supportive, safe, and inclusive space where you’ll be encouraged to express yourself creatively as you form a new network of likeminded writers and practitioners. There will also be time to explore the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of Tŷ Newydd to help deepen your connection with nature and find a sense of peace.

The course welcomes both professional writers and people with no prior experience of writing. The course is also suitable for practitioners interested in using their learning to help others, for example as facilitators of creative writing groups.

This is a bilingual course, and the tutors will be on-hand to support both Welsh and English-speaking participants.
