Richard Fowler has been practising yoga for about 20 years and teaching since 2012. He’s passionate about sharing the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of a regular yoga practice. His classes include asana (poses), pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and meditation practices, and his philosophy is that we should enjoy our practice: focusing on what we can do, not worrying about what we can’t do, but knowing that progress inevitably comes through sustained practice. He encourages his students to develop trust in their own intuition by listening to their bodies and responding appropriately, to develop strength, flexibility and a state of open, relaxed awareness to improve overall wellbeing. Richard has trained with teachers including Dr Ray Long, Richard Adamo, Zoe Knott, Julie Friedberger and Emma Lloyd, with whom he qualified as British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) teacher, and subsequently as a BWY Foundation Course Tutor.

As well as a total of seven yoga, pranayama and meditation sessions, there will be free time to explore the local area: walk along the banks of the Dwyfor, take a dip in Cardigan Bay from Cricieth’s beautiful beaches or maybe even take a trip a secret swimming spot in Eryri National Park – we can point you in the right direction. Accommodation is at Tŷ Newydd Writing Centre, with sessions taking place in Llanystumdwy’s village hall, a five-minute stroll down a leafy lane.
