The 2025 Ruth Seavers Bursary

About this bursary

This bursary is held in memory of Ruth Seavers; a talented writer and artist who herself benefited from a residential course at Tŷ Newydd in 2016. The bursary is made possible due to the generous donation from Ruth’s mother, Martha Clarke.

The bursary is to the value of £200, and can be used towards a residential writing course at Tŷ Newydd Writing Centre. This particular bursary is restricted to writers aged 16 – 30 years old. There is also an additional £100 available to aid with transportation costs. Details of which will be shared with the successful applicant upon receiving the bursary.

How to apply

To apply for this bursary, please complete this application form before 5.00 pm on Friday 28 February 2025. Decisions are made within the following 7 working days. Applicants will be informed via email.

Criteria

Please note the following eligibility criteria:

– Applicants must be aged 16 – 30 years old at the time of their application
– Bursaries are restricted to one per person per year, and applicants who have not previously received a bursary in the past will be prioritised.
– These bursaries are for writers to attend a creative writing course at Tŷ Newydd.
