Tŷ Newydd welcomes 12 young writers this weekend for a course tutored by Anni Llŷn.

In partnership with Literature Wales, Urdd Gobaith Cymru, The National Library of Wales, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and Cadw, the Children’s Festival of Welsh History invited applications by 12 young writers between 16 – 25 years old, to take part in a training project to write a series of short plays for children.

In September 2018, the Children’s Festival of Welsh History hopes to present 12 different shows all representing different aspects of the Industrial Revolution in Wales, from copper at Parys Mountain, to the coal, tin and wool industries and the iron works of Merthyr Tydfil and Blaenavon.

The weekend course with poet, writer and former Bardd Plant Cymru Anni Llŷn will equip all twelve writers with all they need to write and develop their plays for their target audience.

The twelve young writers chosen for the project are: Gwynfor Dafydd, Iestyn Wyn, Elan Grug Muse, Sion Emyr, Sian Elin Williams, Lois Llywelyn Williams, Mared Roberts, Mirain Alaw Jones, Mari Elen Jones, Ceris Mair James, Mared Llywelyn Williams and Arddun Rhiannon.
