On Saturday 30 January we’re holding a pop-up restaurant evening here at Tŷ Newydd. There will be one sitting at 7.30pm offering a three course Italian meal for £25 per head (bring your own bottle). The meal will be cooked by our resident chef, Tony Cannon, and entertainment will be provided by local poet and musician Twm Morys. If you’re not familiar with Twm, then I suggest that you listen to his music and read his poetry. He’s a very talented man.
This is an unique chance to enjoy dinner in the historically significant Tŷ Newydd – the last home of former Prime Minister David Lloyd George, and a Grade II* listed building built in the fifteenth century. Read more about the history of the house here.
The evening will be a chance to celebrate Gŵyl Santes Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of love – who we remember on the 25th of January every year. Her story is a sad one, you can read a version of it here: she ran away to Llanddwyn on Anglesey to be a nun…But this evening will be anything but sad! So whether celebrating Gŵyl Santes Dwynwen with a date, or catching up with friends, book your place at the table today.
