Llwyd Owen has published fifteen novels since 2006, including Ffydd Gobaith Cariad (Y Lolfa, 2006), which won the Wales Book of the Year Award 2007, Iaith y Nefoedd (Y Lolfa, 2019), which reached the shortlist of the same competition in 2019, and seven crime novels in the ongoing Gerddi Hwyan series, which follows the ups and downs of the police and the residents of the fictional town which has been described as a "Cwmderi on crack" by one reviewer. As well as writing books, Llwyd is a translator and an experienced creative writing tutor. He lives in Cardiff, the town of his childhood, with his wife, children and dog.
